GameSetWatch:  Cedric , Relaxation, Averaging

The CMP Game Group's new GameSetWatch video game weblog is still updating regularly over the holiday season, and some of the more interesting recent posts include:

- Information on a new freeware 2D adventure title called Cedric And The Revolution, concerned with "a quest to gather enough people for a peaceful demonstration", and as made with PC adventure game creation tool Adventure Game Studio.

- A startling quotation from a fan of PopCap casual game titles regarding 'the relaxed, stress-free mental state in which [casual titles] often place the player', causing GameSetWatch to exclaim: "This, kind readers, is why casual games are actually pretty hardcore."

- Discussion of a new weblog post testing the concept of 'averaging gameplay' by "layering a bunch of gameplay videos right on top of each other", in this case for classic shoot-em-up title Gradius, and utilizing translucent layers to brighten the most used paths.

- The latest information on new consumer game site launches from Future Network and Ziff Davis, including the revamped GamesRadar site and the forthcoming GameVideos hub.
